Established in 1970 by wine industry pioneer David Hohnen, Cape Mentelle was one of Margaret River's "founding five" wineries. Cape Mentelle's Shiraz takes inspiration from most traditional techniques in order to highlight their classic Australian variety. It is a powerful & elegant wine, bold and precise, truly varietal in its expression, and also generous & expressive.

Deep dark magenta with garnet edges in colour, the aromatics of Cape Mentelle Shiraz 2018 are floral and spicy; wild black cherry, violets and lavender with orange marmalade and intense smoked peppercorns. Rich and juicy displaying satsuma plum and ripe black forest berry fruits of mulberry and blackberry overlaying cured charcuterie and smoked pink peppercorn in palate. The tannins are chewy, yet silky with great texture and detail.
