Moët Hennessy Diageo Hong Kong and Macau x Feeding Hong Kong Collaboration
Being the global leader in Wine and Spirits, our social and environmental commitment concretely addresses the ethical responsibility of business in the community that we operate in general. It is our mission to take care of our lands for the next generation and ultimately about taking care of our people. It is our role to support communities and bring positive changes and impact to the society. One of our sustainable development goals is to reduce environmental footprint through food sustainability.
Moët Hennessy Diageo Hong Kong and Macau is partnering with Feeding Hong Kong towards achieving our shared goals – reducing food waste.
Our Goal
We wish to utilize this platform to help Feeding Hong Kong to raise people’s awareness on the fact that "3,600 tonnes of food are sent to landfills every day, while more than one million people live in poverty struggling to afford nutritious meals." Feeding Hong Kong is committed to reduce food waste and feeding those in needs through collaborations with food companies, charities and community partners. We hope that by facilitating an easy donation process, we could encourage people to pledge their generosity to those in need. Together we focused our efforts towards contributing to the work of Feeding Hong Kong.
How can you contribute?
We would like to invite you to participate in our fundraising initiative for Feeding Hong Kong. Simply click “Donate now”, for only HK$100, you can support 20 meals for a local family. Let’s make every dollar count.
We hope this collaboration with Feeding Hong Kong can raise people awareness towards food waste issues and local hunger. We hope to raise over HKD$100,000 in the next 6 months and encourage you to make the donation and help those in need.
More about Feeding Hong Kong
Feeding Hong Kong is a Hong Kong registered charity with a mission to fight hunger and reduce the amount of quality food being sent to landfills. They serve as the link between food companies with surplus and charities with need. They collect, sort, store and redistribute surplus food to charities running food assistance programmes, and also raise awareness about food insecurity, food waste and food banking. Through their partnerships with 370 food companies, they saved over 4,500 tonnes of surplus from ending up in landfills. Instead, the food was redistributed to 140 charity partners, and more than 10,600,000 million meals were created for people in need.
