In the 19th century, Scotch was distilled,  barrelled and bottled by a small group of businessmen who controlled the flow and  flavour of whisky around the world.
That changed when William Sanderson  decided to do things differently.
He prepared 100 blends and asked  people which vat had the best whisky  in it. The answer? Vat 69.
Since that decisive day of whisky  democracy, we’ve never looked back.
